I had a chat with the same bald fella for about an hour. He told me to go and top myself.

Just for information, this statue is at a Rio de Janeiro beach and depicts Carlos Drummond de Andrade, the greatest Brazilian poet (modernist), also a chronist.
The drunkard wears a propaganda t-shirt from the PT, Partido dos Trabalhadores (Workers’ Party), the party currently on power.

By Platinum Play on Feb 20, 2008
Are those guys naked in the background?
By Click! Click! Click! on Feb 20, 2008
hey don’t laugh, some of the best meaningful and insightful conversations are to be had with statues - most likely because it’s a one way conversation.
By Watch-Television on Feb 20, 2008
Hey man, got any spare change? I feel sorry for the statue.
By Shocking J on Feb 20, 2008
Praising to a god. He hears, but can´t pay him a can of beer.

Brazilian Dude: “I like your shoes”
Statue Guy: “…”
Brazilian Dude: “Guess what’s in my bag…go ahead…guess”
Statue Guy: “…”
Brazilian Dude: “See those naked guys frolicking in the sea behind us? I stole their towels and thongs…yeah….”
Statue Guy: “F%^kin weirdo”

By Yojan on Feb 20, 2008
PHOTOSHOP!
Look around his head, its all pixelated.
By Ed on Feb 20, 2008
wow! roflol!!!
By downloadar on Feb 20, 2008
Una interesante charla de un borracho.
By tulinq.com on Feb 20, 2008
atleast it looks like a person and it wasn’t a bird or something. i can see how that could be confusing! hahaha
By Heather on Feb 20, 2008
stop with the photoshop crap! it’s not pixelation they are JPG compression artifacts, which occur more heavily in highly compressed JPEG files.
if you look carefully it occurs around any contrasting edge in the picture.
why does everyone say any picture which is weird in the slightest way is photoshopped?
By lief on Feb 20, 2008
In Brazil that is common… Yesterday I saw a conversation beetwen woman (maybe drunker) and a umbrella.
By Denisson on Feb 21, 2008
E mesmo, estes brasileiros são loucos, o efeito do álcool pode deixar eles neste estado, bom, tambem o calor, pobres macacos malucos maconheros.
By Diego on Feb 21, 2008
olá mamae!
By raiden on Feb 21, 2008
More of this statues are needed everywhere.
I think society would benefit from such statues, if they are placed where the drunken people meet.
By Azalia Short on Feb 21, 2008
Anyone notice how much that guy looks absolutely nothing like Will Smith?
By Derrek on Feb 23, 2008
Sohhh um brasileiro mesmo… thought I’d never see the day!
By Chey on Feb 23, 2008
Every one talks to some statue. Context and intent changes. Why only Sea beach, go to church, temples, monastries every where you find some one talking to statues.
By sanjiv on Feb 25, 2008
I think he thinks this is his bus stop or is asking the guy what he thinks about the election candidates.
